Our story

During the Covid-19 pandemic, society changed irrevocably, leaving the world with many losses and challenges. Yet, the world also experienced newfound strength and resilience through collaboration and connections. It enabled us to rethink the way things were done.

The LEAPS project directly results from this reflection. Multiple scientists at the top of their field getting together to think about this pandemic experience and reflect on the experience.

LEAPS

After the major waves of the pandemic, a shared desire emerged to find better ways of connecting, learning and adapting our pandemic preparedness, response and recovery in the European Union. Systems thinking and human-centered design were used as the approach to turn the vision into a project.

The project started in October 2023 and aims to demonstrate the value of integrative learning and innovation for future pandemics.
