Marthe Vandepitte is a Research Associate at the Access to Medicines Research Centre of KU Leuven University, Belgium. Within the European consortia LEAPS (Learning and Adaptive European Pandemic Preparedness System) and DURABLE (Delivering a Unified Research Alliance of Biomedical and Public-health Laboratories against Epidemics), she contributes to research aimed at strengthening pandemic preparedness and response.
Marthe obtained her Master of Science in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from KU Leuven in 2024, where she conducted her thesis on alternative treatment strategies for prostate cancer at the Molecular Endocrinology Unit. She later completed a second Master of Science in Tropical Medicine at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp in 2025, where her master thesis focused on enhancing tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment. This program combined biomedical and public health perspectives, fostering her interest in the translation between laboratory research and real-world health system challenges. Building on her studies in biomedical and public health research, she is committed to advancing knowledge that strengthens pandemic preparedness and response.
