Mary Emmanouil is a Research Scientist at the Public Health Laboratories and Diagnostic Department of the Hellenic Pasteur Institute, specializing in molecular virology, immunobiology, and public health microbiology. As the Technical Supervisor of the National Influenza Reference Laboratory of Southern Greece and the Operational Contact Point for Microbiology for Influenza at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) Mary Emmanouil plays a critical role in national and European influenza surveillance and response efforts.
Holding a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2003) and a PhD in Molecular Biology/Immunobiology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2009), Mary Emmanouil has extensive expertise in virology, genetic epidemiology, and next-generation sequencing.
